Let’s just say “Ta-Ta” for now

I’m so glad we had this time together…*tugging on ear! For 30 days now I have been leading the ProBlogger Winter 31day Challenge to build a better blog. It has been a wonderful program and I have met so many new bloggy buddies with so many great stories to share.

I have spent the week reviewing a lot of my own posts which is why I have been mia on posting but just wanted to get this little ditty up and say “thank you” to everyone who has followed along.

We have spoken about it in brief but I am excited to announce that every Thursday I will be continuing the 31 Day Challenge and reviewing key days and working on new challenges by the Zen Master- ProBlogger. He sure has a lot of great information.

I know a lot of our group slowed up or even stopped so it is my hope that with the Thursday 31 Day Review Group it will also give everyone the opportunity to catch up at their own pace and leave questions for our group.

This whole challenge really got my brain moving and I am now ready to make the big leap from Blogger to WordPress and am working on doing that, so look for a new and improved site from me in the near future. Uhhh, I really feel like I’m moving, packing, reviewing, cleaning blah blah blah but it’s time to get up off the keyboard and move literally, so I’m not saying “good bye” *tear tear, just ta ta for now! See you next Thursday for the kick off of Shelley’s 31dbbb Review!!

If you are hear from SITS you have until next Friday March 25th to complete the challenge and if you do you can enter the SITS $100 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway, all you need to do is leave me your email address and let me know what day you completed the project and what the best thing you are taking away from the challenge is. No email, No entrance…The winner will be picked on Sunday March 27, 2011via random dot com and will be notified via email.

Update: The winner of the $100 Amazon Gift card from The SITS Girls is:

Congratulations on the drawing! It was completed on Monday, 28 March 2011 at 13:18:52US/Eastern Time The winner was drawn from a list of 21 entrants using true randomness, which for many purposes is better than the pseudo-random number algorithms typically used in computer programs. 1. Awwww I'm so excited that you'll be making the jump with me to wordpress! You did an amazing job hosting this and remember its not goodbye, its see you next week!

  2. Shelley, this has been such a great and positive experience.

I am only 3 days behind and I am planning on finishing them this weekend. Honestly, if it wasn't for you, daily check ins (I missed few) and some of the girls I met I would never made it this far especially since my life got even busier last week.

Thank you so much, we could not ask for better leader.

  3. Thanks Shelley for taking the time to lead this group. I have really appreciated all you have done. It has been so helpful to me! I plan on continuing to follow on Thursdays!

  4. Shelley, you're going to love going from Blogger to WP! I made the transition after my first few weeks of blogging, and I'm so glad I did! I'm very far from remotely being an expert, but if you have questions, ask anytime.

I'm so glad you're continuing the challenge for us! You're the best!

  5. Hey Shelley! Do we have to have posted on the forum everyday? I fell behind once or twice and ended up doing the prompts without posting . . . I'm curious if I need to post on those days to show I finished or if I'm okay as is?

I've loved doing the challenge with you! You've been an awesome host! :)

  6. I'm VERY NEW to blogging and just started out with Blogger. What is thr difference between Blogger and WordPress?

  7. I'm done with the 31dbbb!!!! Yeah! Thanks Shelley!

  8. I have not been here in ages & stopped blogging all together, but SO glad to be back & I am loving your new title!! XOXO

  9. Hi Shelley, Thanks for all your help with this project. I'll def be here on Thursday to learn more! I've finished the Challenge o date. Is there one more tomorrow?
I think what I liked best was the idea of reworking some older posts to make them better. It's hard to say because, really, every idea was a good one to me.

  10. Just finished up day 31. Going to really miss the challenge although I am so excited to put these new techniques in to practice. Thank you for everything. I don't know how you did it, the challenge took a lot of time! Looking forward to seeing you on thursdays!

  11. Just finished day 31!! yay! I'm just wondering, though, if it was necessary to have posted in the forum everyday. I missed posting on a a few days because I was traveling. Thanks so much for leading the challenge, and for keeping us all motivated. Look forward to seeing you every Thursday! :)

  12. I'm officially done with 31dbbb! (3/21/11 – This is where we're supposed to comment for the Amazon drawing, right?)

Shelley, you are the best, and I'm so excited to continue on with you!

  14. Yay! I am done and it was a wonderful experience! Thank you so much! I am moving to WordPress too and already have things set up and am now working with the design.

  15. I've not been able to do the 31 day challenge yet, as I was out of town. I am looking to better my blog, with design and much much more.

So I'm curious why are you all switching to wordpress?

  16. I'm done with the challenge today! Looking forward to the Thursday review sessions in the future. Thanks for being such an awesome host, Shelley!

  17. Shelley,
You have been an amazing host for this challenge. I can only imagine how many hours you've spent visiting our blogs and posting in the forum. You are a great cheerleader too. You will love WordPress! Anyone who is serious about blogging should have their own self hosted WordPress. Trust me…. You want to own your content. I lost a whole blog on the free blogger platform.

Shelley, I am not done with 31dbbb, but the most valuable thing I learned about and use now daily is the "Calendar" wordpress plug in that allows me to plan my posts on a real looking calendar. One of the Sitsta's shared it in the forum. Priceless tool!

I have loved the support from everyone who has visiting my blog too! I'm interested in the weekly challenge.

  18. The most important thing I have learned through this challenge is to be consistent – be consistent in sitting down to write; be consistent in using my own voice; be consistent in actually posting blogs; be consistent in reviewing other favorite blogs (but don't let this take over your entire day); be consistent in sorting through ideas and putting them on a calendar; and be consistent in looking at my blog as a business rather than just a hobby that I did when I could.

My favorite post from last week – Red Cross, Johnstown Flood, Japanese earthquake & Tsunami

I am looking forward to continuing with you on Thursdays. Thank you for putting this together Shelley!
Yeah! I am finished with this challenge!!!

  19. WOOOHOOO I did it! Go all of us ladies who have completed the challenge. :)

    Email is

  20. Thank you so much for continuing the 31 Day Blog challenge! I've learned about all of this at the very end, so it was a little overwhelming. I'm glad I can start this at my own pace. :)

  21. Shelley, thank you so much for being such an amazing host and supporter! I've had so much and learned a ton!

I finished the challenge on monday, 3/21. The best thing that I will be taking from this is the communication, interaction and support.

PS – I totally got the "tugging on ear" reference! LOVE that!

  22. Ok. Officially finished. I really finished on Monday 3/21 but I went back today and made sure all my forum posts were completed. I had missed one so I posted it.

There is such a wealth of information I am taking away from this. It's hard to pick one thing. I think the best thing I am taking away from this is this wonderfully supportive group. I look forward to continuing on with the review days.
