It’s that time… again! ProBlogger 31DBBB

I’m doing it again!

In January you might remember I had a small “meltdown” because I thought that “you” didn’t like me. Well, maybe not “you”, rather cyber world according to Google and my so called Analytics. After I was finished having a little “pity me party” I felt perhaps it was time to “go back”… back to the beginning and analyze what was going on.

How did I do this you ask, well I stepped up and thought I would go through the ProBlogger 31 Days to Build a Better Blog Challenge, and no, I didn’t think that I would just try and do it myself by myself again (I had initially done this when I started blogging) I volunteered to bring along a lot of my SISTA’s with me.

In February I kicked off the Winter ProBlogger 31DBBB Challenge and we had a great time writing, reading and reading and reading some more and about 250 ladies worked through the program with me Monday through Friday, weekends off; come on you can’t “party” everyday can you?

I received some wonderful feedback after the 31 days were over and promised to continue to work on this challenge and review on Thursdays. I know there is a ton of material and we thought it would be a good opportunity to once again review the 31DBBB on the SITS Forum. If you were part of our wonderful group I’d love to have you come on by once again and take another look, as you know there is a wealth of information in the program. And if you are new to the idea this is a great challenge for anyone with a blog.

This time around, we’ll be approaching Darren’s program a bit differently. Since I’m doing this with the SITS Girls we have SITStah-fied his challenge, giving participants two ways to participate.

Starting in June, you can choose between two options:

Option 1:
Work through each of Darren’s assigned tasks Monday through Friday in The SITS Girls discussion forum. Because we will not be working on weekends, you’ll be done with the program about mid-July.

This option is for those of you who really want to work through everything the ProBlogger program has to offer. Starting June 1 under the 31DBBB June group, we’ll publish key points to discuss, a task to work on and questions to answer daily. Rest assured that your blog will improve. And you know I will be with you every step of the way to answer any questions you might have and even keep you going with a giveaway or two.

Option 2:
Focus on only a handful of the 31 activities. The plan is to slow down the program more than ever. On Mondays and Thursdays, we will publish a post in the Education channel on SITS, bringing you some of our favorite ProBlogger tasks. While we won’t be working through all 31 activities, we’ll be focusing on a handful of activities in detail and ensuring that everyone has a chance to complete them. What’s more, because the SITS Girls plan to run the 31 Day Challenge several times a year, you can join again and again as we work through different sections of ProBlogger’s book.

The choice is yours! Summer is a busy time for all of us. The goal is to work through the ProBlogger program in a way that works best for everyone.

Here is a bit more about what you can expect during the month of June…

On Mondays and Thursdays in the Education channel on SITS, we will publish an overview of the activity we’ll be focusing on, a quick and easy “homework assignment”, and a handout. We have a few other ladies who will be helping out here with the tasks.

For those interested, we will be assigning participants into small groups. Our goal is to provide a great networking opportunity and a way for you to receive feedback on your blog.

For those of you who would like to join in the “party”

  1. Thanks for this post Shelley. I'm pumped for #SITS31DBBB, and even dedicated a page to it on my blog:

Take part in the smaller working groups sounds like a great idea. Will stay tuned on the developments in the next week or so! Really glad you are hosting it again – your experience from previously hosting it will definitely come in handy, I'm sure.

  2. I've already signed up and I'm looking forward to this. A small group will be a big help with keeping me accountable and current with this project.

  3. Yay Shelley! You're going to help so many bloggers by hosting again!

    Stumbled :-)

  4. Shelly, is this a girls only clubhouse or can an old geezer join the fun?

  5. Shelley, You Rock! I participated in the Winter Challenge and can tell you it made a huge difference in my blog. Not only all the technical information, but the relationships and encouragement from the sitsgirls was awesome. Even though I work full time, I did most of the challenge (catching up on weekends.) Ever since the challenge ended, it has been hard to push myself like that so I am looking forward to starting again.

  6. I'm doing it, I'm doing it – I expect a lot from me and hopefully I will deliver and find kindred spirits in some if not all of you in SITS. Thanks for this opportunity, Shelley! 😀

  7. Shelley, is it at all possible to put up a post/thread with all of the questions/discussion points that you'll be asking us in the forum? One of the reasons that I had to quit last time was that I just didn't have the time to do everything in such a short time frame. Having a list of the questions to fill out ahead of time would be really helpful :)

  8. Yay! I have been feeling so overwhelmed lately, but I hope I can get it together to participate in June. I love having options too. 😉

  9. I think I am ready for this… I am going to do it with a different blog this go around.

    eep. I'm nervous. :)

  10. So excited to be participating. I started the program recently, on my own, and kind of fizzled out about three weeks through. It's just not as fun when you've got nobody doing it with you…

  11. I'm so looking forward to it.

    Can't wait!

  12. i'll be participating but i can't afford the book :( hopefully i'll still make it through 😛

  13. I'm very excited fir this- thanks so much! Also wanted to say, your banner is beautiful! The colors are so eye-catching.

  14. I'd like to participate but I am not sure how much time I will need to dedicate to this exercise. As you all know, anything we do is on the account of something else.

  15. I'm looking forward to participating again and hopefully catching up on a few of the tasks that I skipped over last time around. =)

    Thanks for hosting again Shelley!!

  16. real indiana housewife says:

sooooo excited for what #SITS31DBBB will bring!!! =)

  17. This is so great. I didn't complete last 3 days of the February challenge cause life turned into real whirlwind for me last two months.I am so happy to do this again.

  18. I am so glad I found you blog today! Excited to work through the Challenge.

  19. This is my first visit to your blog and I look forward to many return visits : ) I found the SITS group through the Tip Junkie, so I guess, indirectly, that's how I got here : )

  20. Hey Shelley,

I ran across your challenge and the SITS Girls via Tip Junkie. I'm very interested in participating, but I have a quick question.

I currently have a "craft blog", just something to post what I've been up to in the crafty world…but, what I really want to work on is my new blog to promote my Etsy shop. It's just now in the setting up phase though and I don't have any posts on it…Would this challenge be good for me? Or is it mainly for existing blogs?

I checked out ProBlogger's Ebooks and noticed that he had one for the first week of blogging…Do you think this would be a better program for me?

I'd rather participate in the 30-day challenge with the SITS Girls. I think I could get more out of it than just a week of "how to start up your blog", but I don't want to jump in if it's not ment for brand new blogs.

Wow…I didn't mean for this comment to be so long! LOL If you'd like to contact me via Email or IM, there's a link on my profile page.

    Thanks :)

  21. Just had to thank you and say I'm learning a lot on the 31 day program!

  22. I'm so glad that I found the 31 DBBB challange with The SitsGirls. I'm working to improve both of my blogs. Trying to keep up everyday but sometimes hard with working and family. :)

You guys are AMAZING group of women that support and help each other everyday. What an AWESOME community.

  23. Hello,
I'm your newest follower. I'm in a rush now, but I look forward to coming back and reading all about this challenge. Will you be doing this again? Do you have to purchase the ebook?

I started my blog 7/10 and am looking to learn much more about how to improve my blog. It is a hobby with the hopes of potential monetary gain. :)

Thank you in advance for your help, and sharing such a wonderful challenge!
